About the Series

Launching April 2026

AI for Smarter Procurement explores how public sector teams can use AI to improve procurement processes—while reinforcing fairness, transparency, and public accountability. The series supports procurement professionals, program staff, and legal and oversight teams navigating growing complexity and scrutiny in public purchasing.

Public procurement involves high stakes, tight timelines, and detailed compliance requirements. This series examines how AI can support key stages of the procurement lifecycle, from drafting and reviewing solicitations to analyzing bids and monitoring contract performance. Rather than automating decisions, the series emphasizes how AI can help public professionals reduce administrative burden, surface insights, and strengthen oversight—when applied thoughtfully and governed well.

Through examples and policy-aware discussion, participants explore how AI tools can support more consistent processes, identify risks earlier, and promote fair competition—while understanding the limitations, risks, and safeguards required in procurement contexts.
