About the Series

Launching March 2026

This five-part series explores how public transportation agencies can use AI as a decision-support tool to improve service, while keeping people, operational expertise, and public accountability at the center.

Transit agencies face growing demands for reliability, safety, equity, and efficiency. New AI tools can help teams analyze information, anticipate issues, and improve coordination, but they do not replace human judgment. This series helps transit professionals understand what AI can realistically support, where its limits lie, and how to integrate new tools into real-world transit operations without compromising safety, equity, or rider trust.

Across the series, participants examine practical use cases spanning safety, operations, planning, and rider experience. Each session focuses on how transit professionals—not algorithms—use AI-enhanced tools to support decisions, improve workflows, and deliver better outcomes for the public.
