The Environmental Challenges and Opportunities of AI
This session explores AI’s environmental footprint across the full lifecycle—from data infrastructure and model training to deployment and use. Participants will examine the sustainability challenges AI presents, the implications for government procurement and infrastructure decisions, and the policy and regulatory questions emerging around energy use, transparency, and emissions, alongside opportunities for AI to support climate and energy goals.
